India will be playing England in their third pink-ball Test on February 24 at the Motera Stadium, Ahmedabad. After the first two matches, the bilateral series is levelled at 1-1. The upcoming game will be the first day/night Test match played between India and England.
Till now, India has played two pink-ball Tests. The Virat Kohli-led Indian team played their first pink-ball Test against Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens in 2019. The hosts beat Bangladesh by an innings and 46 runs.
In the second pink-ball Test, India faced Australia on their turf. Even though the visiting Indian team took a lead in the first innings but they lost the game by eight wickets after they got all out for 36.
India played two pink-ball day/night Test matches, won and lost one fixture each due to which they have a 50% win record, with a victory against Bangladesh and a defeat versus Australia. They have a 100% win record in the pink-ball Tests in India. The Indian team will be aiming to maintain their unbeaten home record and take a lead in the on-going bilateral series against England.
The Indian skipper Kohli has been the most successful batsman for his team in the pink-ball Tests, he’s the only player to score a century. He scored a century against Bangladesh followed by a 74 against Australia in an innings. Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav took a five-wicket haul each in the day/night pink ball Test against Bangladesh.
