Several reports emerged on Tuesday that the visiting Indian team isn’t happy with the lack of facilities at the Brisbane hotel they checked into. According to a tweet by PTI’s Kushan Sarkar, the Indian team in Brisbane has been given the permission to access the swimming pool, lift and gym as well. Sarkar also mentioned in the tweet that the BCCI are confident about the housekeeping facilities will be in order for the Indian team.
The lack of facilities at the Brisbane hotel has created several issues for the Indian team which led to a major controversy on Tuesday. It was reported that the players weren’t given any permission to access the basic facilities at the hotel, owing to the strict quarantine rules.
Some members from the Indian camp are describing the Brisbane hotel as ” a prison for practical purpose”, had told the Times of India yesterday:
The report further revealed that the visiting team members had informed India’s cricket governing body, BCCI either to take some necessary actions to sort out the issue or put them on a flight to India. BCCI got in touch with Cricket Australia (CA) to sort out the problems faced by the Indian team staying at the Brisbane hotel.
The BCCI officials took the matter in their hands and got in touch with their CA counterparts. They also got in touch with the captain Ajinkya Rahane head coach Ravi Shastri. The BCCI gave a nod for the Brisbane Test on the condition that the Indian team would be allowed to fly out of Australia as soon as the Test match gets over. The bilateral series is currently tied at 1-1, the 4th Test at The Gabba will be the series decider.
