On the first day of the second test match between India and England, Rohit Sharma slams his 7th Century of his International Test career While Rahane hits his 23rd half-century.

Virat Kohli and Joe Root were set for the second game of the series after first match resulted in England’s side. Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to bat first as the pitch Chennai pitch shows it’s colours sooner or later.

With 3 and more changes from both squads teams started the day; England made 4 changes; Ben Foakes, Moen Ali, Stuart Broad and Olly Stone in the place of Jos Buttler, Tom Bess, Jofra Archer and Anderson respectively. While India made 3 changes; Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammad Siraj in the place of Washington Sundar, Nadeem and Jasprit Bumrah.

Earlier India with a huge wicket of Shubhman Gill in the second over of the match; Gill got LBW out by debutant Olly Stone without scoring a single run. After Gill’s wicket in the start Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara hold the strings and built a strong partnership of 85 runs in which Pujara contributed 21 runs. Pujara got caught out by Stokes in slips in the over of Jack Leach.

In the very next over Virat Kohli too got bowled by Moen Ali; for the first time in his cricket career he got out on zero runs by a spinner. When Moen Ali bowled a magical bowl which turned under Kohli’s legs and stumped and Kohli didn’t even realize what happened.

In the second session Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane stayed strong and scored 162 runs together and ended the session wicketless. Rohit Sharma reached 150+ run mark for the 4th time while he scored 161 runs and Ajinkya Rahane scored 67 runs, both got out in the third session at regular intervals.

Pant and Ashwin tried to make a partnership and scored 35 runs together but Ashwin lose his wicket on 13 runs while Pant and Axar Patel ended the day 1.

England bowling card looks quite obvious but shocking for Moen Ali as he already crossed 100+ runs throughout the day with 2 wickets while Jacks Leach also got 2 wickets. Debutant Stone and part-timer Root got 1 wicket each.
