The 4th and last match between Border-Gavaskar series between India and Australia kicks off today at Gaba Stadium, Brisbane. This match is crucial for both the teams as it’s a series decider match.

For the first time in this series India didn’t announce their playing XI before the match day as Indian test squad is facing injury conflict from the starting match of the series. The series has been tough and challenging for the team and now they don’t even have their key pace bowlers on field.

India played 2 Debutants in one match for the second time in this series. Also India made 4 changes in the playing XI featuring Mayank Agarwal who made his comeback, Shardul Thakur who made his series Debut and Washington Sundar and T Natrajan made their International Test Cricket debut.

The team has whole new Bowling department leading by Mohammad Siraj, Navdeep Saini and 3 new bowlers. Indian team management didn’t have any option other than them as Bumrah and Ashwin got injured in the last match at Sydney and would take some time to recover.

Indian Bowling unit strike well early in the day where Siraj once again got big fish David Warner in the starting overs while Shardul Thakur took the wicket of Marcus Harries who made series debut for Australia.

Smith and Labuschagne as usual hold the inning for Australia; both played out first session patiently. Washington Sundar managed to break the partnership and got the wicket of Steven Smith by Rohit Sharma’s catch. Matthew Wade then played settled innings of 45 runs but unfortunately couldn’t complete the 50 run mark.

Labuschagne on the other hand crossed hundred run-mark. He scored his 4th hundred in the Test Cricket. Again Natrajan strike and took his second wicket for the day by catch of Rishabh Pant behind the stumps.

Brief Score:

Day 1

AUS 1st Inns: 274/5 (Labuschagne 108, Wade 45, T Natrajan 20-63-2)
