India-Australia T20 series was a complete entertainer for cricket circles as players showed the flavor of T20 format throughout the series. India controlled the matches and won the series by 2-1 while Australia without their key players fought bravely. The series of new records and milestones continued just like the ODI series:
10- Indian team made a record of winning 10 consecutive T20Is away from home under Virat Kohli’s captaincy in the first two matches. Australia broke the streak with the victory in the last match. This was India’s best performance in T20Is.
1st– Yuzvendra Chahal in the first match got substituted on the place of Jadeja in the second innings with concussion rule; as Jadeja was hit by bowl on his head in the batting innings. Chahal turned out for India and took 3 wickets in the second innings. He became the first Concussion substitute to be named the Man of the Match in international cricket.
80.2- Virat Kohli’s average while chasing (1686 runs; 36 innings; 17 fifties, SR 136.73) the best among batsmen with 1000 or more T20I runs. Shoaib Malik’s 37.32 is the next best. Virat Kohli scored 134 runs in the three matches with strike rate of 120+.
3- T Natrajan took 3 wickets on his debut T20I match by giving just 30 runs. Also he became leading wicket-taker for India; took 6 wickets in 12 overs he bowled with the economy of 6.9 runs per over.
