Day 2 of 4th Test between India and Australia got delayed and then abandoned due to Rainy Hailstorm at Gabba Stadium, Brisbane. Following the outputs from day 2 Day 3 would be tougher for bowlers and batters too. “It was a heavy downpour and the ground hasn’t recovered well from a deluge,” said a groundsman in the evening.
On the day 2 Team India’s bowlers strike early in the morning session when Australia lost five wickets and got all out on 369 runs. In the second session Indian team started with Rohit Sharma and Shubhman Gill. In the last match new opening pair Rohit and Gill played few kick-off innings for India together but today Australian pacer Cummins got the key for Gill.
Gill got catch behind in slips in the early overs while Rohit Sharma played attacking innings with Pujara but got catch out while playing an unnecessary shot at Mid-off. He scored 44 runs and missed 10th half-century in the Test Cricket format.
Tomorrow the pitch will be more of with dew after the hailstorm. In the early morning Australian bowlers might struggle against the Indian batting line and tough conditions. Whereas Indian batting line may take the advantage of the conditions on field.
India’s strong batting performance is much needed for being in driving seat for India; as they faced similar situation in the previous match where Indian openers got their way to pavilion in the last session of first day and Indian inning collapsed in the morning session of next day.
AUS 1st Inns: 369/10
IND 1st Inns: 62/2
