On the second day of the fourth test between India and Australia; rain played a significant role in the second half of the day. Earlier Indian bowlers strike early in the morning session when Australia lost five wickets and got all out on 369 runs.
In the second session Indian team started with Rohit Sharma and Shubhman Gill. In the last match new opening pair Rohit and Gill played few kick-off innings for India together but today Australian pacer Cummins got the key for Gill.
Gill got out by Slip fielder in the seventh over; he scored just 7 runs. Rohit Sharma on the other hand played an attacking inning with silent Pujara. Rohit scored 44 runs off 74 balls with 6 fours. He got catch out at mid-off while playing an unacademy and unnecessary shot in the air.
Rahane and Pujara then hold the strings for India. Pujara scored 8 runs off 49 balls and Rahane scored 2 runs off 19. The play got stopped when it starts raining in Gabba, Brisbane. The ground staff said that they are expecting a hailstorm.
As off conditions play got abandoned for day 2. The umpires had a look at the conditions and it was a heavy downpour and the ground wasn’t recovered from it. So, the final session has been washed out and India finish at 62 for 2 on Day 2.
