Deepika Padukone was recently spotted in a book launch that talked extensively about her own struggles with depression.
The newly married Deepika stunned us all with her fashion game as she took the spotlight with a pink off-shoulder ruffle detail top paired with red high-waisted pants and fuschia heels. Complimenting the look with pearl earrings, hair tied in a bun and bronze makeup.

While she did stun us with her magnifying appearance, her words were candid and quite motivating as she talked about the prevailing pay disparity in Bollywood, and her own experience with the same.
“I know my track record and what I’m worth. I know that his films haven’t been doing well as my films have been doing. It made absolutely no sense. I was okay to say no to that film based on that one thing as I thought it was unfair,” Deepika Padukone revealed.

Stressing upon the fact that rather than gender, the pay difference should totally be determined by the skills and experience of the individual. “I’m ready to take those steps and measures and decisions for myself because I want to be able to sleep peacefully at night.”
“I don’t think I’ll be able to live with the thought knowing that I have been a part of a film, had the same creative contribution or bringing the same value to a film but being underpaid,” Deepika added.
Meanwhile, we will soon see the ‘Padmaavat‘ actress yet again creating magic on-screen, this time in Meghna Gulzar’s next Chhapaak, also starring Vikrant Massey. The movie is based on the life of acid-attack victim, Laxmi Agarwal.
