In a startling revelation that has sent shockwaves through the music industry, Min Hee Jin, CEO of ADOR label under entertainment behemoth HYBE, has accused Chairman Bang Si Hyuk of copying her ideas to create BTS. The bombshell claim emerged on April 23, igniting intense debate and casting a shadow over the future of the industry giant.
Reports indicate that HYBE swiftly responded to these allegations by seizing computers belonging to ADOR, unearthing three key documents. These documents, identified as work diaries from March 23 and March 29, 2024, authored by a close associate of Min Hee Jin, hint at underlying tensions between ADOR and HYBE, as well as plans for independence.
Further scrutiny revealed damning evidence of Min Hee Jin accusing Chairman Bang Si Hyuk of idea theft, claiming that BTS was conceived based on her original concepts. The revelations have rocked the foundations of the industry, prompting a storm of speculation and scrutiny.
In a recent internal meeting at HYBE, Min Hee Jin reportedly doubled down on her accusations, alleging that other groups such as ILLIT, TWS, and RIIZE had also copied her brainchild, NewJeans. However, HYBE retaliated by alleging signs of an attempted takeover by Min Hee Jin, citing leaked confidential contracts and attempts to persuade shareholders to sell ADOR's stocks.
Amid mounting pressure and scrutiny, Min Hee Jin issued a statement defending her actions, attributing her actions to the alleged imitation of NewJeans by HYBE's new group, ILLIT. However, her defence has drawn criticism for deflecting attention from the serious allegations against her and implicating the members of NewJeans.
Established in 2021 with significant investment from HYBE, ADOR quickly rose to prominence as the 'younger sister group of BTS'. Yet, with these explosive allegations now coming to light, the future of ADOR and its relationship with HYBE hangs in the balance, signalling turbulent times ahead for the music industry.
