Michelle Yeoh Addresses Allegations of Disrespect by Emma Stone at Oscars

Oscar-winning actress Michelle Yeoh has responded to allegations of disrespect by Emma Stone at the 2024 Oscars. Yeoh, who announced Stone as the winner for Best Actress, addressed the incident on social media.

Following the ceremony, where Yeoh warmly greeted other actresses on stage, some felt Stone's interaction with Yeoh appeared half-hearted. 

However, Yeoh's Instagram post shared photos from the event, explaining that she wanted to include Stone's best friend, Jennifer Lawrence, in the moment of handing over the award.

 

 

While some praised Yeoh for clarifying the situation, comments on the post varied.

Many believed that Yeoh shouldn't have had to explain and that Stone's behaviour was still seen as disrespectful, labelled as a microaggression by some.
