Multiple sources confirmed to People that the actress playing Barbie is expecting a baby. This will mark Robbie and her husband Tom Ackerley's first child together. The news surfaced following paparazzi images capturing the couple vacationing in Lake Como, where Robbie was seen with a visible baby bump in a crop top. The announcement quickly sparked discussions on social media.
Ackerley and Robbie have been married since 2016 and jointly operate a production company named LuckyChap Films. Some of their notable works include Saltburn, Promising Young Woman, and the upcoming Barbie film.
In a June 2016 feature for Vogue, Robbie candidly discussed her relationship with Ackerley, whom she met on the set of the World War II drama Suite Française in 2013. Initially friends, Robbie admitted, "I was the ultimate single gal. The idea of relationships made me want to vomit. And then this crept up on me." Reflecting on their journey to romance, she shared, "I was always in love with him, but I thought, Oh, he would never love me back. Don’t make it weird, Margot. Don’t be stupid and tell him that you like him. And then it happened, and I was like, Of course we’re together. This makes so much sense, the way nothing has ever made sense before."
