Mattel announced the live-to-film concert experience of "Barbie The Movie: In Concert" hitting Hollywood Bowl on July 27. The event promises to bring the beloved film to life with live music from The Barbie Land Sinfonietta, led by executive producer Macy Schmidt's all-women orchestra.
This marks a historic moment as Schmidt became the first woman of color orchestrator in Broadway history. Audiences can expect a memorable experience with Barbie projected onto a giant LED screen while enjoying the award-winning score performed live.
Additionally, speciality limited-edition merchandise and photo opportunities will be available. Subscription packages are now on sale, with single tickets available from May 7. Mattel's chief franchise officer, Josh Silverman, expressed excitement for the event, highlighting the joyous celebration of Barbie and the talented all-women orchestra.
The concert adds to Hollywood Bowl's summer 2024 lineup, featuring diverse performances, including a 100th birthday celebration for Henry Mancini, holiday events for Juneteenth and July Fourth, and appearances by Boyz II Men, Mitski, and Beck.
Marvel Studios' Infinity Saga Concert Experience will also debut, taking audiences on a cinematic journey through the franchise's first 23 films under the direction of Gustavo Dudamel. The summer promises an array of entertainment for all ages, blending music, film, and celebration at the Hollywood Bowl.
