Various videos have surfaced online, where Jolie is seen crying and being emotional after the standing ovation. Angelina can be seen wiping away tears in the videos. Pierfrancesco Favino, her 'Maria' co-star, then comforts her and later, she is seen putting her head on his shoulder. Pablo Larrain, the director of 'Maria,' accompanies her in walking the stairs, after which she bowed to the audience and expressed her gratitude.

'Maria' follows the life of the Greek opera singer Maria Callas, with Jolie playing her role. The film focuses on the final week of Maria's life in 1977 in Paris. The film will be released on Netflix but the date is yet to be announced. Maria is the third film in Larrain's trilogy of films about iconic women, following Jackie and Spencer.

Earlier at a press conference, Jolie opened up on the preparation for the film, "Everybody here knows, I was terribly nervous. I spent almost seven months training because when you work with Pablo you can't do anything in half. He demands, in the most wonderful way, that you really do the work and you really learn and train."
