Indian T20I women’s cricket team skipper Harmanpreet Kaur is celebrating her 32nd birthday today on 8th March. The day is very special for Indian skipper as it is celebrated as International Women’s Day too. Harmanpreet Kaur who recently played her 100th ODI yesterday against South Africa Women’s team become 5th Indian to do so.
The birthday girl is famous for her cricketing skills and exceptional records which even Virat Kohli is short off. In 2017 Cricket Worldcup, Harmanpreet scored 171 runs in 115 balls in Semi-final match against Australia. The inning includes 20 fours and 7 sixes, which amazed cricket circles.
This inning of Harmanpreet Kaur gave a new turn to Women’s cricket and Worldcup semi-final. Exactly one year later, Kaur scored her first ever T20 ton against New-Zealand. She scored this ton in just 49 balls with 8 sixes and 7 fours. With this ton she became first Indian women to score a hundred in T20. Even Virat Kohli is waiting for his T20 ton but Harmanpreet already have that.
Harmanpreet Kaur is one of India’s finest women cricketers and a legend in limited over’s cricket. She has played 100 ODIs for the country and scored 2412 runs at an average of 34.95 and strike rate of 69.27 including three hundreds and 11 fifties. Harmanpreet has also represented India in 114 T20Is and aggregated 2186 runs at an average of 26.98 including a hundred and 6 fifties. She scored a brisk 40 off just 41 deliveries in the first ODI against South Africa in Lucknow yesterday.
