Mark Calaway popularly known as The Undertaker turns 56 on March 24, 2021. The legendary wrestler who defined World Wrestling Entertainment for more than three decades finally hanged his boots on June 21, 2020. The Undertaker wrestled for the last time at Wrestlemania 36 when he faced Aj Styles at the Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, Florida, United States. The 56-year-old wrestler made his wrestling debut on June 26, 1987. The Undertaker has created history at WWE’s flagship event WrestleMania where he had The Streak of 21 straight victorious. Apart from headlining WrestleMania on five occasions, Taker won the prestigious WWE title four times, the World Heavyweight Championship three times, the Hardcore Championship once and World Tag Team Championship on six instances. Calaway’s storied career has been considered legendary in the history of sports entertainment. The Deadman had numerous iconic matches in WWE with a bunch of wrestlers which helped his career propel to the next level, let’s have a look at the best matches of the multi-time champion:

  1. The Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels (WrestleMania 26)
    The Undertaker faced Shawn Michaels for the second time in a row at the grandest stage of wrestling. The stakes were high as Michaels had put his storied career on the line in the main event of WrestleMania 26 against the Deadman. The two greatest wrestlers of all time wouldn’t give up in a classic wrestling match. The wrestling fans believed that the streak was about to be conquered as HBK wouldn’t stand down against Taker. Michaels kicked out after two Tombstone Piledriver which drove the Undertaker crazy. However, the Deadman stood tall at the end of the night as HBK wasn’t good enough to kick out after the third Tombstone Piledriver. The Undertaker managed to keep the streak alive with 18-0.

  1. The Undertaker vs Triple H (WrestleMania 28)
    The Undertaker challenged Triple H for a match at WrestleMania 28 for the second time in a row. The Deadman made HHH tap out at WrestleMania 27 but only one man managed to leave the ring on his feet and that wasn’t Taker. In the search for retribution, Taker challenged HHH for a match at WrestleMania 28. The match was scheduled to be played inside Hell In A Cell with Triple H’s best friend Shawn Michaels was the official match referee. HHH was the favourite to win the match as WWE’s COO didn’t lose a single match when his old friend Michaels was the match referee. The two veteran wrestlers tore each other apart with multiple chair shots and the match became brutal as it progressed. After taking the beating from Triple H, Taker locked Michaels in his submission move in the heat of the moment. HBK super kicked Taker followed by a pedigree from HHH, Michaels hit the canvas for the pinfall 1,2 and the Undertaker kicked out for two and a half which left the entire arena in turmoil. Even after taking two consecutive finishing moves, Taker refused to stay down. After returning the beating to Vince McMahon’s son in law, the Deadman hit HHH with a tombstone piledriver for the second time, HBK counted the pinfall 1,2,3 and the Undertaker’s streak survived once again.

  1. The Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels (WrestleMania 25)
    The Undertaker faced his arch-rival, Shawn Michaels, on the 25th anniversary of WrestleMania. This match was one of the highly anticipated matches of the night as two of the most skilled wrestler were taking on each other. Considering the differences in size and shape of the two wrestlers, HBK was still a major threat to The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak. Michaels hit Taker with two superkicks which made the time stood still as the streak was about to end but the Deadman refused to stay down and kicked out at two and a half on both instances. HBK also went toe to toe against Taker with the same spirit and kicked out at the last instance when the Phenom hit him with the tombstone piledriver. The match went for more than 30 minutes, this fixture was undoubtedly the match of the night. With every passing moment, HBK was inching towards breaking the streak but in the final moment, he was caught in the mid-air by Taker and took the second Tombstone piledriver of the night which concluded the match in the Deadman’s favour.
