So it often happen that you we are not aware of our hair type, and this thing can also affect to your shopping for your hair care product or hair styling tools. Most of the people face lot of problem to identify their hair type. There are various type of hairs that include hair density, diameter, greasiness, elasticity, curl pattern. In this post we are going to show you the in detail about your hairs and how to identify your hair type.

1. HAIR DENSITY

Hair density means how much hairs you have on your scalp. Hair density refer to hair diameter. You can have thin hair with more density or vise versa.

• THIN HAIR DENSITY

If you can easily see your scalp. Means you have thin density.

• MEDIUM HAIR DENSITY

If you can see your scalp partically from your hairs. Means you have medium hair density.

• THICK HAIR DENSITY

If you can see your scalp hardly from your hairs. Means you have thick hair density.

2. HAIR DIAMETER

The hair diameter refer to the width of an individual hair strand. You can identify your hair strand by doing simple strand test just by holding your hair strand between your thumb and index finger.

• THIN HAIR DIAMETER

If you can barely feel the strand between your fingers. Means you have thin hair diameter.

• MEDIUM HAIR DIAMETER

If you can feel hair the hair strand slightly. Means you have medium hair diameter.

• THICK HAIR DIAMETER

If you can feel your hairs properly. Means you have thick hair diameter.

3. HAIR GREASINESS

Knowing how greasy your hairs is can help you to understood how frequently you need to wash your hairs. To identify which type of hairs you have? Just do this simple test of your scalp. Wash your hairs before going to bed and let them dry in air. Next morning do the patch test of your scalp, just take a tissue and place near the crown and behind the ear. So in this way you can identify how oily your hair is.

• OILY HAIRS

If there is a heavily greasy patch on the tissue, so it means you have oily hairs and scalp. You have to wash your hairs 1 to 2 times a week.

• NORMAL HAIRS

If there is very light evidence of oil on the tissue, so it means you have a normal hair and scalp.

• DRY HAIRS

If there is no oil deposited on the tissue, so it means you hairs and scalp are dry and lack of hydration. Use the product that can add and retain moisture in your scalp or on hairs.
• COMBINATION HAIRS

If there is oil deposited on the tissue from only the specific regions of your scalp, it indicates combination hair.

4. HAIRS ELASTICITY

Hair elasticity refers to the extent to which a single hair strand can stretch before returning to its normal state. It is a strong indicator of hair health. Hair with high elasticity has a good amount of shine and bounce and is regarded as the strongest of all hair types.
To find out the elasticity of your hair, you need to pluck a wet hair strand and stretch it as much as you can. Depending on the results, your hair elasticity can be categorized into one of three types.

HIGH ELASTICITY

If your hair strand stretches a long way without breaking immediately, it indicates high elasticity.

MEDIUM ELASTICITY

If your hair stretches to some extent before breaking, it indicates medium elasticity. Most women have medium hair elasticity.

LOW ELASTICITY

Hair that snaps almost immediately after stretching has low elasticity.

5. CURL PATTERN

So there are four type of hair pattern

TYPE 1. STRAIGHT HAIRS

This type of roots basically stays straight. It is typically lies straight/ flat from the roots to the tips. It is texture of soft and silky.

TYPE 2. WAVY HAIRS

Wavy hairs are is type of hairs which neither straight not curly. It falls between the both. The wavy hairs are slightly straight and curl from down side. This hairs type is rough and thick hair diameter.

TYPE 3. CURLY HAIRS

This hair type has definite curls that stay curly irrespective of any amount of straightening. It has higher density compared to wavy and straight hair. It is more prone to frizz and can get tangled quickly.

TYPE 4. KINKY HAIRS

Kinky hairs are looks rough but they are soft. It is easily prone and breakage and damage if not cared. Kinky hairs have high density has compared to straight, and wavy hairs.
