The Grammy nominations for 2025 have been announced, and Indian musicians are shining as bright as the prestigious golden gramophone. This year, there are six nominees from India for two categories.
The Grammys are the most prestigious awards a musician can achieve, and Indians don’t want to stay behind. They dominated the two Grammy Categories, and out of the six, four are in the Best in New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album category and two in the Best Global Music Performance category.

Following are the Indian Musicians who are nominees for the 2025 Grammys:
Ricky Kej
Ricky Kej is a three-time Grammy Winner, so he is not new to Grammy nominations. His latest album, Break of Dawn, is nominated in the Best New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album category. He won his first Grammy in 2015 for Winds of Samsara. His music depicts nature and the environment.
Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shankar has been nominated in two categories, first in the Best in New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album category for Chapter II: How Dark It Is Before Dawn and Best in Global Performance for featuring in A Rock Somewhere. She is the daughter of Ravi Shanker and was the first Indian to play at the Grammys in 2006. By far, she has been nominated nine times.
Radhika Vekaria
Warriors Of Light by Radhika Vekaria is also nominated in the category for Best in New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album. This is her second album since her debut in 2020. The speciality of this album is her vocals in three different languages, i.e. Sanskrit, Hindi and English.
Chandrika Tandon
The fourth nominee of the Best in New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album is Chandrika for her album Triveni. She was first nominated for a Grammy in 2010 for her album Om Namo Narayana: Soul Call. The Chennai-based musician learned music under classical singer Shubhra Guha and vocalist Girish Wazalwar.
Varijashree Venugopal
Varijashree has been nominated for the Best in Global Music Performance category alongside Anoushka Shankar for A Rock Somewhere. She collaborated with Ricky Kej on his Grammy-nominated album Break of Dawn. This nomination marks her first Grammy nomination.
Noshir Mody
Noshir is a Mumbai-born musician who moved to the US when he was 22. He has been Nominated for his part in the song Kashira by Masa Takumi, along with Ron Korb and Dale Edward Chung. He is a nominee for the Best in Global Music Performance Category, which marks his first-ever Grammy nomination.
The result of the Grammy nominations will be declared on 2 February 2025.
