For the last four months, Mumbaikars have been facing summer and extreme heat. However, now Mumbaikars will get relief from this. The Colaba Observatory has announced that the monsoon will arrive in Mumbai today (Tuesday) or tomorrow, June 9. The monsoon has arrived in Maharashtra on June 5, three days ago. In the last two days, monsoon has become active in most parts of Maharashtra, especially in western Maharashtra.
The meteorological department has clarified that Mumbaikars are still waiting for the monsoon and will be able to welcome the monsoon today or tomorrow.
According to the Central Meteorological Department, southwest monsoon winds will soon make their way to the rest of Maharashtra, including Mumbai, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Besides, monsoon is expected in some parts of Odisha and some parts of West Bengal in the next two to three days, the meteorological department said.
Meanwhile, the meteorological department has forecast heavy rains on the west coast, Maharashtra and Telangana due to strong westerly winds.
