Inter Milan will be inviting Genoa for the Serie A fixture on Sunday at 7:30 PM IST at San Siro. The hosts have acquired the number one spot with 53 points while the visitors have occupied the 11th position with 26 points.
Inter Milan played 23 matches out of which they won 16 games, lost twice and had a draw on five occasions, while Genoa also played the same amount of matches, they won six games, lost nine and drew eight times.
The table-toppers are four points ahead of the second-best team on the Serie A standings. Inter Milan will be entering into this game on the back of a 3-0 victory against AC Milan in Derby Della Madonnina last week. Romelu Lukaku and his partner Lautaro Martinez were lethal in their previous fixture and played a crucial part in their victory.
Genoa are comfortable in the middle of the points table with their 26 points. In their previous game they played out a narrow 2-2 draw against Hellas Verona, a last strike from Milan Badelj helped them restrict their opponents to a stalemate on home soil.
In the head-to-head competition between the two teams, Inter Milan clearly has the upper hand as they beat Genoa on 20 occasions out of the 30 games they played against each other. Genoa was victorious in just five fixtures while five games ended in a draw. Their previous game took place in October last year where Inter Milan came out victorious with a scoreline of 2-0. Goals from Lukaku and Danilo D’Ambrosio helped their team to seal the game comfortably.
The hosts will miss the services of Stefano Sensi due to a muscle problem. Achraf Hakimi also won’t feature in Sunday’s fixture as he is suspended due to accumulated bookings.
For the visiting Genoa team, Luca Pellegrini and Davide Biraschi will be sidelined due to injuries.
