Know Which City Has The Most Amount of Vegetarian Food Orders?

Recently, Swiggy revealed the name of the city with the highest number of vegetarian orders, and it is not something you would have expected. For most vegetarian food ordered, one must think Ayodhya, Porbandar, or Ahemdabad, but you have it wrong. In a revealation, Swiggy declared that Bengaluru, Silicon Valley of India was the city that ordered the highest amount of vegetarian food.

One out of every three vegetarian orders placed in India is from Bengaluru, according to Swiggy's order research. These figures were made public as part of Swiggy's announcement of the Green Dot Awards, which highlighted the selling of best vegetarian food across the country.

Bengaluru has now earned a new title of the 'Veggie Valley', due to the citizens choice of food. The most ordered dishes include Masala Dosa, Paneer Biryani, and Paneer Butter Masala. Masala Dosa is loved by people all over the country for breakfast, kunch and dinner. While Mumbai ranks second in the most ordered vegetarian food, being top choices Dal Khichdi, Margherita Pizza, and Pav Bhaji. Hyderabad comes third in this list with orders like Idli and Masala Dosa as top choices.

According to Swiggy, over 90% of breakfast orders are plant-based. In India, vada, idli, pongal, and masala dosa were the most popular breakfast foods. While considering snacks, Margerita Pizza takes the lead, with samosas and Pav Bhaji coming in close second. According to Swiggy, Indians also started eating healthier; over 60,000 orders for vegetable salads are placed there each week.

Swiggy has introduced the first-ever Green Dot Awards to celebrate the greatest vegetarian foods and restaurants from more than 80 cities. More than 60 categories- Pure Veg Brands, Cakes & Desserts, Veg Pizza, Veg Burger, Paneer Dishes, Veg Biryani, Veg Dal Makhani, and more have received over 9,000 nominations.
