Who can forget Mayuri Deshmukh from the cult Marathi show ‘Khulta Kali Khulena’ the show and Mayuri’s character from the show are still cherished by all the audiences across Maharashtra. And now that the actress is a part of a Hindi daily soap titled ‘Imli’ we striked a conversation with her and spoke about her transition from Marathi to the Hindi industry and much more!
We began by asking her about her journey from the Marathi shows to Hindi soap operas, to which she said “Thankfully I got the right team in that project also. You need a different temperament to work in television. My first serial was training round. Before that, I have done plays and films, but it’s a different volume altogether. Though it’s acting the patience level and delivery pattern is different. In daily soap, you get the scene and in 5 minutes you have to deliver. So I was trained for this entire scenario. For Imli I was hoping that I get a good team because it is very important. When Imli’s offer came up my only concern was Hindi. It was not my comfort zone then. The ease that I had in Marathi that I had to get in Hindi as well”
Furthermore, we asked the actress about the major difference she finds between both the industries! To which she added “There is a budget difference. In Hindi daily budget is higher. Creativity is pretty much the same everywhere. Imli is not an over the top drama, everybody is acting realistically”
