Actor Simran Budharup recently shared a troubling experience she had during her visit to Mumbai's Lalbaugcha Raja pandal for Ganesh Chaturthi. She posted on Instagram about how a security staff member forcibly took her mother's phone and mistreated them. According to Simran, her mother was taking a photo while waiting in line, but the staff's behavior was unacceptable, including pushing her mother when she tried to get her phone back.
Simran Budharup mentioned in her post that she had to intervene, adding that the "bouncers rough-handled me." Ms Budharup decided to document it on her phone, after which the staff tried snatching her phone too. She wrote, "It's In this video where I am yelling Mat Karo! Kya Kar Rahe ho aap. It was only when they discovered I'm an actor that they backed off."
The actor highlighted the importance of "awareness and accountability." In her post, she said, "People come to these places with positive intentions, looking for blessings. Instead, we encountered aggression and disrespect. I know managing crowds is tough, but it's the staff's job to keep things orderly without being rude or harming visitors."
She added, " I'm sharing this to bring attention to the issue and hope it serves as a wake-up call for event organizers and staff to treat visitors with dignity and respect. Let's work together to create a safer, more positive environment for everyone."
