The show, which had become one of the most-watched series on the platform, was taken down by the comedian after backlash over Ranveer Allahbadia’s offensive remarks. Since then, no new episodes have been released. Recently, Purav Jha opened up about filming an unreleased episode featuring cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal as one of the panelists, sharing behind-the-scenes insights from the shelved shoot.
In a conversation with MensXP, Purav Jha reminisced about the fun they had while filming the unreleased episode, mentioning how he and Yuzvendra Chahal ended up bonding like “back-benchers.” Chahal, he noted, was incredibly easygoing and took all the jokes sportingly. He said, “Woh aadmi (Yuzvendra Chahal) launda hai. He is full of fun. I felt like I was sitting with my school friend. He is very down-to-earth and jolly. We were like backbenchers. He is very cool,” Jha expressed.
Although Purav isn’t sure whether the episode will ever be released, he acknowledged that Samay didn’t hold back when it came to roasting Chahal, much to the audience’s delight. “Hum toh bach gaye the. Humara toh nahi kuch hua tha, but Yuzi bhai ki toh band bajaayi thi Samay bhai ne badhiya. Theek hai, bahut controversy ho gayi hai,” Purav added.
He added, “I don’t know if I should be happy or sad, as my episode has not been released due to controversy. Kyuki audience bolti hai yaar hume dekhna tha aapka wala episode toh fir aisa lagta hai ki aaya nahi… phir uske baad police wale (Audience ask when is your episode coming, then I feel it should be released but then police….).”
In addition to Yuzvendra Chahal and Purav Jha, India’s Got Latent featured a star-studded lineup in its other episodes, with guests such as Farah Khan, Munawar Faruqui, Mallika Sherawat, Ahsaas Channa, Bhuvan Bam, Dalip Tahil, Ashish Vidyarthi, Rahul Dua, and Vishal Dadlani, among others.
