Kesav Binoy Kiron, the talented young actor known for Girls Will Be Girls and Saanvi, recently opened up about an interesting incident from his early days. Like many newcomers, Kesav had his fair share of struggles—one of which involved an ad shoot in Mumbai that taught him a valuable lesson.

At a time when auditions weren’t leading to work and money was tight, Kesav landed an ad shoot alongside a famous personality. When asked to quote his fee, he soon realized that the industry valued ad work differently from films. The team insisted he lower his rate, claiming that without prior ad experience, he couldn’t demand a higher sum. Eventually, he had to agree—to just 25% of what others, including a foreign background actor on the set, were getting.

Later, he found out his actual quoted budget was four times higher—the rest had been pocketed elsewhere. To make things worse, his close-up never even made the final cut! Looking back, Kesav laughs, saying, “It did hurt back then as an actor who was just starting. But now when I look back, I see it was a lesson. And a hilarious one at that!”
