From Ryan Coogler—director of Black Panther and Creed—and starring Michael B. Jordan comes a new vision of fear: Sinners. Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers Jordan return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.
Written and directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Coogler, Sinners stars Jordan in a dual role, joined by Oscar nominee Hailee Steinfeld, Miles Caton, Jack O’Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Omar Miller, and Delroy Lindo.
Actor Wunmi Mosaku plays the character of Annie, a Hoodoo conjurer, spiritual leader, and healer in the community, whose deep connection with Smoke (Michael B Jordan) has survived their years apart.
Ask Wunmi about her experience working alongside Jordan, and she says, "I found this whole experience of working with Michael quite magical actually. When it was Smoke and Annie, our relationship on the set, as Wunmi and Michael, was so easy, and our shorthand was so in sync—we pushed each other, really challenged each other. Every day, we’d say, “Tomorrow, we’re going to come in harder, better, faster, and don’t be afraid.” And when he was Stack, still the same lovely Michael, but there was just a distance, and I wouldn’t share with him in the same way as I shared with him when he was in a Smoke costume. His energy was so different that I could tell with my back turned who was walking onto the set—if it was Stack or Smoke. No question. I didn’t even have to look. It was so obvious to me. It was so nuanced and fine-tuned. The vibration was so clear. I could tell without a shadow of a doubt if it was Stack or Smoke."
Warner Bros. Pictures presents A Proximity Media Production: Sinners. The film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures and will be released in Cinemas and IMAX in India on April 18, 2025.
