Singer Diljit Dosanjh performed in Hyderabad for the first time on Friday, November 15, as part of his Dil-Luminati Tour. Before the concert, the Telangana government imposed restrictions on the songs he could perform. Although Diljit and his team didn’t release an official statement about the order, he shared a cryptic message on social media ahead of the event.
Hours before his concert on Friday, Diljit Dosanjh shared several photos on Instagram from Hyderabad's Falaknuma Palace. The pictures showed him enjoying a Sufi performance and posing with the singers. He also wrote a cryptic caption which says " Aandhi roke toh hum toofan...Toofan roke toh hum aag ka dariya"
The Telangana government issued a notice stating that Diljit Dosanjh cannot perform songs referencing violence, drugs, or alcohol during his Hyderabad concert. The notice, issued by the Department of Welfare of Women and Children, Disabled, and Senior Citizens (Rangareddy district), also prohibited him from involving children in his show.
The Telangana government’s notice mentioned that Diljit Dosanjh had performed songs promoting drugs, alcohol, and violence, such as 5 Taara, Case, and Patiala Peg, during his Delhi concerts on October 26 and 27, and such songs would not be allowed in Hyderabad. Diljit began his Dil-Luminati Tour in India with an energetic concert in Delhi on October 26. After Hyderabad, he is set to perform in cities like Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, Kolkata, Mumbai, and more, ending the tour in Guwahati on December 29.
