Dhanush Sues Nayanthara For This

Tamil actor Dhanush has reportedly moved a civil suit against Nayanthara and demanded that she stop using clips from his production Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in the personal Netflix documentary series she is doing. Dhanush has authorised the Tamil daily to report that he has filed a lawsuit in the Madras High Court against Nayanthara and her spouse, Vignesh Sivan.

The suit claims that they have used certain visuals from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in the Netflix docu-drama Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale. His company has also filed an application to the High Court seeking permission to sue Los Gatos Production Services India LLP, the Indian wing through which Netflix declares its content expenditure in India.

In this regard, because Los Gatos is based in Mumbai, Dhanush requested the court to rely on 12 of the Letters Patent. Preliminary submissions that both the parties made on the question of permission were allowed and the permission was granted as a major portion of cause of action was found to have occurred within the jurisdiction of High Court. According to reports, the idolisation of Nayanthara put her in the legal notice has filed by Antony Varghese and she has to give some clarification at the next hearing.

The suit comes a couple of weeks after Nayanthara accused Dhanush of pressuring her into the deal and denying her permission to his footage in a film documentary. Speaking to the Media, Nayanthara said, after she had insisted on not using any clips of the film in the documentary, Dhanush and Selvaraghavan threatened to sue her for ₹10 crore for using ‘three seconds of behind-the-scenes footage’ from the film. The two actors weirdly avoided each other last week at the wedding of a star in Chennai.
