Punjabi singer and global star Diljit Dosanjh thrilled fans at his Hyderabad concert by changing the lyrics of his song Lemonade from mentioning 'alcohol' to 'Coke'. The company responded to a video of his performance on Instagram.
The change was made after the Telangana government asked Diljit not to include songs promoting alcohol, drugs, or violence in his performance. Diljit, known for his quick acceptance , easily adjusted to the rules. He changed the lyrics from "5 tara theke" to "5 tara hotel" and replaced "daaru’ch lemonade" with "Coke’ch lemonade."
In another popular song, Pehle Lalkare, Diljit changed "bottlaan de datt patten" to "Coke de datt pattne," making the crowd laugh out loud.
The star's improvisation not only excited the audience but also caught Coca-Cola's attention. The company commented on this with the caption saying, " Chautha kaam twade gaane japne" accompanied by a smiley and heart emoji.
Many videos from his concert went viral on social media, showing Diljit entertaining the crowd while following government rules.
However, the singer openly criticized the Telangana government for its restrictions. Diljit Dosanjh questioned why Indian artists were being closely watched while international performers seemed to face no such issues.
