Following the terror attack in Pahalgam, Instagram accounts of various Pakistani artists have been banned in India. These artists from the Pakistan entertainment industry have a massive fanbase even in India.
The banned accounts include those of Hania Aamir, Sanam Saeed, Mahira Khan, Ali Zafar, among other renowned artists. This follows just a few days after the announcement of Fawad Khan’s Bollywood film ‘Abir Gulaal’.
Pakistani actor Arsalan Naseer posted a story on his Instagram about the ban on Pakistani artists' social media accounts in India. He has made fun of Fawad Khan, an actor from his own nation and compared him to a long-snouted squirrel from Ice Age franchise with a particularly bad luck.
In the story, he wrote, “Fawad Bhai film ap ne ki.... masla border pe shuru ho gaya.... ban mai ho gaya. Mind na kerna lekin aap wo 'Ice Age' wali Gulehri hain…. ((Fawad bhai did a film, there are tensions at the border, but I am getting banned, please don’t mind but you are the squirrel from Ice Age)”.
Fawad Khan was all set to make a comeback in Bollywood after nine years, with the film ‘Abir Gulaal’ also featuring Vaani Kapoor. The film was scheduled to be released on May 9 this year. However, the film will not be released now due to the tension caused by the Pahalgam attack.
