He signed an executive order declaring that the U.S. government would officially recognize only two genders: male and female. During his inaugural address, Trump stated, “As of today, it will henceforth be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders, male and female.”

This move aligns with Trump's campaign promises to roll back what he described as “radical gender ideology.” The executive orders also revoked previous Biden administration policies aimed at preventing discrimination based on gender identity or sexual orientation.

Trump’s administration took further steps to dismantle diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives across federal agencies. A senior official revealed that federal funding for DEI programs would be cut, and a review of offices renamed under these initiatives was already underway.

Additionally, government-issued identification documents, such as passports, will now reflect biological sex rather than self-identified gender.
