Delhi Capitals registered their second consecutive win in IPL 2020 as they outsmarted Chennai Super Kings in Dubai. It proved to be the sixth instance where the team, losing the toss and put in to bat went on to win the match.
The opening stand between Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw was ideal in setting up the innings. The duo was watchful in the powerplay but once the spinners came in, Shaw in particular shifted gears and racked up 175 runs. Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw had put on a 94-run opening stand in just 10.4 overs.
Shreyas Iyer, hit a 22-ball 26 and robbed Delhi Capitals off some momentum before a 14-run final over from Hazelwood. Rishab Pant’s unbeaten 25-ball 37 giving them some push in the middle overs.
Axar Patel dismissed Shane Watson by getting him caught at deep mid-wicket. Patel and Amit Mishra bowled 8 overs collectively for just 41 runs. Kagiso Rabada also picked up 3-26.
For CSK, Faf du Plessis, top scored with 43. In the end, CSK fell 44 runs short.
