After the demise of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, people have started to come out with their mental issues. They have also tried searching about more about anxiety and depression. But most of the time all they come across are false facts, thanks to their googling on this issue. So how do we know what all defines mental health and how to tackle depression, anxiety and other mental issues.
Another stalwart in the industry, actor Deepika Padukone has come out with a solution. She has spoken to mental health experts about suicide, depression and the misconceptions around it.
In fact, Deepika posted a video of her conversation on these topics with Dr. Shyam Bhat and Dr. Soumitra Pathare on the YouTube channel of her organisation, the Live Love Laugh Foundation.
She also posted the video on Instagram. She captioned it as,“While I embarked on this journey more than 5 years ago, recent tragic events have made us all realise that now more than ever, we need to prioritize menial health & intensify our focus on #SuicidePrevention.”
In the video, Deepika busts certain myths about mental health issues whether the depression or anxiety of mental illness or something that has be triggered by an event.
The experts also mentioned that suicides are most prevalent in people between 15-25 years of age, and it can be prevented by interventions at the right time.
The conversation around mental health and suicide was stemmed in the wake of actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death last week. .
Deepika also posted on Twitter, “Repeat After Me. Depression is not the same as sadness. Repeat After Me. Depression is not the same as feeling sad.”
