Shikhar Dhawan scored his second hundred in IPL career. He has become first player to hit consecutive hundred in Indian Premier League history. Shikhar scored his first maiden hundred in IPL against CSK in the last match on Super Saturday. His unstoppable form continues today, against Kings XI Punjab as wickets got dropped from another end he stand still and scored 106 off 61 balls with the strike rate more than 173.3.
Dhawan hit 12 fours and 3 sixes and remained not out till the last ball. Dhawan has so many records in IPL history and statistics. Dhawan has hit 575 fours till now, most by anyone. Following him Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina and Gautam Gambhir are in top 4 spots. Shikhar has also scored 2 half centuries in this edition of IPL. He is on 2nd position of most fifties in IPL history following David Warner on first position.
Dhawan has managed to enter 5000 runs in IPL career club. Only five batsmen have managed to score 5000 runs in IPL. After Virat, Suresh Raina, Warner and Rohit Sharma; Dhawan also entered in this club. He took only 169 matches to reach this milestone 2nd less than David Warner as he took only 135 innings. He has played in 3 franchises in Indian Premier League, started with Delhi Daredevils, then got traded to Mumbai Indians after that he played few seasons for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
He captained Hyderabad team for one season and handover captaincy to Darren Sammy and eventually David Warner. Last season he again bough by new Delhi, Delhi Capitals. And now he is successfully opening for his team and also performing well. Delhi Capitals are doing great this year and Gabbar has played effective role in the front.
