Washington Sundar who is playing his fourth International Test match missed maiden century by just 4 runs when India got all-out in the first session of day 3 on 365 runs. Sundar and Axar Patel celebrated partnership of 106 runs for 8th wicket.
Earlier India started the session by 7 wickets on 294 runs and ended on all out by 365 runs, local boy Axar Patel and Sundar built a needed partnership and turned the match by India’s side as India got lead of 160 runs by the end of their first inning.
Indian tail enders completely enjoyed the session by their fantastic performances but at the end when Axar Patel got run-out by Root and Bairstow, soon Ben Stokes striked and caught Ishant Sharma leg behind on the first ball of his over.
Mohammad Siraj too got bowled by Stokes in the same over and Sundar missed his first ever century in his test cricket career. England started with their second innings, remained wicketless on 6 runs after 3 overs play.
