Taiwanese Actor Darren Wang Under Investigation for Attempted Murder

Taiwanese actor Darren Wang, renowned for his role in the 2015 film "Our Times," is currently under investigation for attempted murder. This development follows his recent arrest on allegations of evading mandatory military service.

Reports indicate that Wang returned to Taiwan recently and arranged for a car to pick him up at the airport. Dissatisfied with the vehicle provided, he allegedly hired an individual to assault both the driver and the person responsible for the reservation. The victims reportedly sustained significant injuries, prompting authorities to investigate the incident as attempted murder. 

Prior to this incident, on February 18, 2025, Wang was detained by Taiwanese authorities on suspicion of evading mandatory military service. He is accused of forging medical documents to claim exemption from conscription. Wang was among several individuals investigated for allegedly dodging compulsory military service or assisting others in doing so. 

The recent allegations have intensified scrutiny of Wang's actions. Authorities are conducting thorough investigations into both the attempted murder case and the military service evasion charges. The outcomes of these investigations could have significant implications for Wang's career and legal standing.

Wang's representatives have yet to issue an official statement regarding the allegations.
