Teenage is the most dramatic phase of a person’s life. This is the time you obsess iver yourself and your skin in front of the mirrors and sometimes it obligates the kids to be tempted to hide their serious skin health issues out of embarrassment. Today I want to bring the issue to some light and share some common skin conditions prevalent in teens.

Acne

This is the most common skin condition in teens. This occurs when the pores in the skin are clogged. This can further result in redness, swelling and inflammation. Blackheads, whiteheads and cysts may be a few symptoms of acne.

Sun burns

Sun burns basically occur due to overexposure to sunlight. Teens are at a higher risk of it because of their excessive outdoor participation. It is very important to protect skin from sun damage as it opens doors to ither leading causes of many skin conditions.

Pimples

Anyone can develop pimples especially during the teen years. It is mostly because of high production of sebum oil in the skin. They can be like small red bumps with pus in them. But if treated with care with consultance from a dermatologist, they can be cured.

Eczema

Eczema is actually an umbrella term for rashes, itching, swelling, and irritation of the skin. One should avoid scratching on the itchy spots to avoid redness and soreness. Teens and adults of all ages may experience this condition. This problem is not contagious, hence people shouldn’t shame and shy away from people suffering.

Excessive Sweating

Everyone sweats when they exert themselves, experience stress, or are overheated. But this condition is when the sweat is expelled from any part of the body like from the palms, feet, underarms or their head. In such cases, one must see a doctor.
