A recent V-Pop release has come under fire for allegedly plagiarizing BTS member Jungkook’s song “Standing Next To You.” The controversy escalated when the producer of the track appeared to mock Jungkook, adding fuel to the debate.
In 2023, Jungkook released “Standing Next To You” with a popular choreography video that featured him in a white shirt. Recently, V-Pop artist Hùng Huỳnh dropped the music video for “CHẲNG THỂ NHẮM MẮT,” which netizens claim bears strong similarities to Jungkook’s song.
Fans pointed out that the melody, styling, and choreography concept closely resembled Jungkook’s video. A TikTok comparison video showcasing both clips side by side quickly went viral, drawing widespread attention and criticism.
As netizens accused the V-Pop song of plagiarism, the producer, Kewtie, added to the controversy with a post on social media. He shared a photo of Michael Jackson, which many interpreted as a dig at Jungkook, suggesting that the BTS idol had copied the legendary singer.
The post didn’t sit well with fans, who criticized the producer for deflecting attention from the plagiarism allegations. Following the backlash, Kewtie deleted the post from his social media.
While some netizens defended the similarities as unintentional, many others slammed the producer and artist for the accusations. Fans of Jungkook expressed their frustration, emphasizing the originality of “Standing Next To You.”
