The global K-pop sensation BTS, members V, RM, Jungkook, and Jimin are poised to enter a new phase of their lives as they prepare for mandatory military service in South Korea. While the exact enlistment dates are still under consideration, some reports have surfaced suggesting specific details about the enlistment plans for Jungkook, Jimin, V, and RM.
According to reliable sources, Jungkook and Jimin are said to be slated for the Army's 5th Infantry Division boot camp, with a tentative starting date of December 12. On the other hand, V and RM are reportedly gearing up to join the Nonsan Training Center, with a potential enlistment date of December 11.
A spotlight shines on Kim Taehyung, widely known as V, for his intriguing decision to enlist in the Special Task Force of the Army's Capital Defense Command. Although the management of BTS, BIGHIT MUSIC, has not officially confirmed these details, reports suggest that V's choice indicates a potential role in the "Special Duty Team" (SDT), a military police unit known for its involvement in special operations, mobile strikes in urban areas, and the arrest of armed deserters within the military.
The SDT is stationed at various military levels, including corps, headquarters, and divisions. Its responsibilities encompass executing special operations under the directives of the Republic of Korea (ROK) President, ensuring VIP security, and responding to violent crimes. Notably, the unit is recognised for its crucial role in maintaining military discipline and safety.
Amidst the swirling reports, BIGHIT MUSIC issued a brief statement emphasising their inability to verify any information regarding the specific duties and assignments of the BTS members during their military service. The management urges fans and the public to await official confirmation before drawing conclusions.
