BTS's V Addresses Speculations About Special Duty Team Enlistment!

In a recent live broadcast on Weverse, BTS member V took a moment to address the swirling speculations regarding his mandatory military service, particularly his rumoured enlistment in the Special Duty Team, an elite anti-terrorism unit under the Blue House's direct supervision.

While BIGHIT MUSIC had previously announced the enlistment of the remaining four BTS members—RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook—in November, specific details were withheld. The statement clarified that RM and V would follow standard enlistment procedures, while Jimin and Jungkook would enlist together through a companion system.

Recent Korean media reports heightened anticipation by suggesting V's potential involvement in the Special Duty Team, known for its rigorous training and involvement in high-risk operations. Concerns arose among ARMYs, prompting V to address the rumours during the live broadcast.

V reassured fans, stating, "There were articles coming out about the unit I will be enlisting. ARMYs were worried, but honestly, I just wanted to challenge myself by going there and because I have goals. So please do not worry too much. I am challenging myself, but I also know how to deflect when needed."

During the broadcast, V candidly discussed his fears, particularly regarding the SDT's training requirements, such as rappelling down buildings and helicopters. He acknowledged, "I'm a little bit scared of rappels, but... just please trust me. I shall return healthy and not get hurt."
