BTS Member SUGA Embarks on Military Service Journey

On March 28, BTS member SUGA embarked on his mandatory military service, commencing three weeks of basic training at the Nonsan training centre. This significant step marks the next phase in his service obligation.

Contrary to the conventional enlistment route, SUGA commenced his service as a public service worker in September 2022. This strategic decision allows him to complete basic training following his tenure as a public service worker.

The option to pursue public service before basic training provides enlistees like SUGA with certain advantages, such as securing designated positions without the uncertainty of random assignment. This approach accommodates individual preferences and circumstances, facilitating smoother transitions into military service.

SUGA, also known as Min Yoongi, began his military journey on September 22, 2023, and is scheduled for discharge on June 21, 2025.
