Box Office: Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani Revives Massive Growth

While much anticipated Hollywood films Barbie and Oppenheimer being trending on Indian Box Office for a little longer Bollywood romcom-family drama directed by Karan Johar, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is bringing the audience to theatres.

The film recorded massive growth on the third day of the release i.e. on Sunday, putting up its highest collections so far. The film starring Alia Bhatt & Ranveer Singh showed around 20% growth in its Sunday collections than Rs 16 Cr on Saturday.

With an okayish opening day with Rs. 11 Cr it went a little high with the weekend and considering the facts that one of the two superstars Alia & Ranveer are coming back together that too with Karan Johar who is directed a movie after 7 years.

The film has recorded fourth highest weekend collections so far in this year after SRK’s Pathaan, Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and Prabhas’s Adipurush. Now the film is aiming for Rs 85 Cr weekend global collections.

While it is likely to cross other family romantic comedy dramas of the year including Vicky Kaushal’s Zara Hatke Zara Bachke (Rs 87 cr) and Satyaprem Ki Katha (Rs 80 cr), Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani will aim for the highest grossing film of the year in the similar genre– Ranbir Kapoor’s Tu Jhooti Main Makkar, which had clocked Rs 149 cr.

On Monday the film is targeting to gross atleast Rs. 6 Cr as the fate of the coming week will be decided on today’s collection. If the Kjo company succeeds on Monday they will definitely have a fine week ahead with another blockbuster weekend. On the other hand, RRKPK has 10 days lobby until Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 and Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 releases on August 11.
