Both Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrat Bharucha starrer Dream Girl and Sushant Singh Rajput starrer Chhichhore is still running but at the lower level due to the release WAR, Syeraa Narsimha Reddy and Joker but still managed to rake some moolah at the box office.
The Nitesh Tiwari directed Chhichhore entered its fourth week now on a very good note. Despite facing new releases every other week – Dream Girl, Section 375, Prassthanam, The Zoya Factor And Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas, Chhichhore kept the momentum strong at the box office. While Dream Girl and Section 375 were appreciated, the others failed big time which led Chhichhore perform strongly with the first week run at Rs 68.83 crores. Owing to a solid word of mouth feedback, the second week collections were equally good with Rs 40.47 crores at the box office followed by another amazing Rs 24.23 crore in the third week and Rs 15.40 crore in fourth week.
Due to the release of WAR, Syree Narsimha Reddy and Joker on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Chhichhore crashed to Rs 20 lakhs on fifth Friday but went up to Rs 35 lakhs on Saturday and Rs 40 lakhs on Sunday. The comedy drama did very well with Rs 0.45 crore on 5th Monday,went up with Rs 0.63 crore on 5th Tuesday, crashed with 0.20 crore on 5th Wednesday and ende 0.15 crore on 5th Thursday, bringing the 35 days, its total collection has become 151.79 crores nett.
Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrat Bharucha starrer Dream Girl stunned every one with yet another solid growth on its 3rd Saturday and Sunday. The comedy drama remained strong at the ticket thanks to an encouraging word-of-mouth reviews from the paying audience which helped the movie to mint a staggering Rs 72.20 crore in the first week. Due to the strong reviews, Dream Girl minted a very good Rs 38.60 crore in the second week and Rs 22.05 crore in the third week.
Produced by Balaji Motions Pictures and Zee Studios production, Dream Girl suffered a drop on Wednesday due to the new releases. The comedy drama dropped on fourth Friday with Rs 35 lakhs but went up with Rs 60 lakhs on Saturday and Rs 75 lakhs on Sunday. The earnings remained the same with Rs 75 lakhs on 4th Monday, went up with Rs 1 crore on 4th Tuesday but crashed with Rs 0.35 crore on 4th Wednesday. On 4th Thursday, it was stable with Rs 0.30 crore, bringing the 28 days total collection to Rs 137.65 and becoming the highest grossing film of Ayushmann Khurrana beating Badhaai Ho (Rs 137.21 crore.
Chhichhore and Dream Girl is facing tough competition from the Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer War from 2nd October.
