'We don’t need another Alia'; Shalini Pandey Reacts to Comparisons With Alia Bhatt

Bollywood and South actress Shalini Pandey became everyone’s obsession when she appeared in Netflix’s ‘Maharaj’, starring alongside Junaid Khan. Shalini has once gained attention from audiences with her acting skills in ‘Dabba Cartel’.

Recently, in an interview with a media portal, Shalini Pandey reacted to the comparisons made between her and Alia Bhatt. She said, “Alia hai! We don’t need another Alia, and no one should be another Alia, because Alia is so amazing. Not just because of her films - of course, she’s incredible onscreen. But personally, from what I’ve seen of Alia offscreen as well, I admire her."

She further added, “I don’t want to be that because there is one Alia. Of course, there are so many admirable qualities that you want to take, but I also want to have my own individuality. I want people to look at me for who Shalini is rather than box me into something. That I’m not okay with. But when they compare me with love, of course, it’s a great comparison because she’s just lovely."

Shalini Pandey made her debut with the film ‘Arjun Reddy’, starring alongside Vijay Deverakonda in 2017 and became an overnight sensation. She made her Bollywood debut in the Ranveer Singh starrer, ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’. She recently appeared in Netflix’s Dabba Cartel, alongside Jyotika, Shabana Azmi, Gajraj Rao, Anjali Anand and Sai Tamhankar, among many others.
