Vidya Balan Says This To Mawra Hocane 

Actress Vidya Balan expressed her affection for the movie Sanam Teri Kasam through her experience watching it at the cinema. As a romantic drama from 2016 the movie continues to gain popularity making numerous moviegoers shocked by its renewed success. The film experienced failure during its initial release but achieved popularity during its re-distribution which started on February 7, 2025. 

Taking to Instagram, Vidya Balan praised the film and its cast, especially Mawra Hocane. She posted the official poster of the film on her story, writing, "Enjoyed watching this simple love story in the theatre! Congrats to #Mawra #HarshvardhanRane #RadhikaRao #VinaySapru #KaleemKhan @mawrellous @harshvardhanrane @sapruandrao @deepakmukut. Mawra aap kamaal ho," which translates to "Mawra, you are amazing."

The re-release of Sanam Teri Kasam has been performing surprisingly well. On the first day, the movie grossed Rs 4.25 crore, which was more than three times its original opening. The following day, the earnings grew by 15%, reaching Rs 5 crore, bringing the total to Rs 9.50 crore. This unexpected success has excited many, including Mawra, who shared her joy about seeing her movie poster displayed in Mumbai after nine years. She wrote, “I can’t believe this,” showing her excitement about the film’s new success.

Harshvardhan Rane also shared his feelings about the movie's re-release and how it didn't do as well as expected in 2016. He said, "Everyone was asking me everywhere to bring this film back. The only anecdote I remember is that we all were expecting this film to do much better than what it did. That void has pushed me today to request everyone to release this. Nau saal hogaye hain (It has been nine years), every year they keep losing faith, but my faith keeps increasing."

Under the direction of Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru the film achieved its purpose. In addition to Mawra Hocane and Harshvardhan Rane the movie included Manish Chaudhari as one of its actors. Following the success of its re-release, Sanam Teri Kasam is set to return to theaters again in October 2025. This second chance at success has brought new attention to the heartfelt love story, leaving audiences excited for its next chapter.
