Karan Johar and Varun Dhawan, how both endured when his father David Dhawan’s film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan competed with Karan Johar’s film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. He had a difficult decision to make between dad’s film and his favourite type of film.

Recently Varun said that his selection was disgusting to his father and he was ready to leave him on the London streets. Why? Because Varun wanted to watch Kuch Kuch Hota Hai instead of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Varun recalled the confusion when he was on the way to the Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’s premiere in London. "The premiere of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was in London. I don’t know why they did it there. We were driving through the streets of London in that limousine with both of the lead heroes making funny faces in the poster. But I wanted to watch Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and I hadn’t even introduced myself to Karan at that time,” he added.

Varun also was quick to say more, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai just seemed a cooler place, but Dad was like, ‘Stop it Varun I’m going to throw you out of my house’. I recall myself telling him you can’t deal with children like that here and my dad said ‘He is so naughty, why did I bring him here’. "It was because of the mass factor that first day of Bade Miyan was bigger but obviously Kuch Kuch Hota Hai became even more larger.  And I ultimately got launched by ‘Karan Johar.”
