Shah Rukh Khan is returning to the big screen on December 20 with Mufasa: The Lion King. He will once again voice Mufasa, a role he played in the 2019 version of The Lion King. His son Aryan Khan is also back as the voice of Simba, and this time, they’ll be joined by AbRam Khan, who will lend his voice to young Mufasa.
In a special video shared by Disney Films India, Shah Rukh Khan talked about working with his sons, Aryan and AbRam, on this exciting project. The film also features Mahesh Babu as the voice of Mufasa in Telugu and Arjun Das in Tamil. Shah Rukh fondly recalled the first time he and Aryan dubbed together for an animated movie, The Incredibles.
While recalling memories, he said, " It was difficult as compared to today’s time." " Both of them were very patient while working, and honestly, I wasn’t sure if they would actually display this level of patience at their age. But both of them prepared a lot for the project. They properly took time to learn their Hindi lines."
He further added, " When Aryan dubbed for The Incredibles, I think people used to speak a lot in Hindi, so dubbing for it was relatively easy. However, now, after almost 10-15 years, people are more akin to speaking in English. So, AbRam worked hard on the project. He learnt his 20-25 Hindi lines with his sister (Suhana). The whole family was involved in the film."
Shah Rukh Khan shared that working with Aryan and AbRam was a special memory he would always cherish. He said it felt like creating a lasting record or collection of their voices.
Aryan Khan is eagerly waiting for the release of his directorial debut on Netflix, a series set in Bollywood. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is reportedly working with his daughter Suhana Khan in the upcoming film King, directed by Sujoy Ghosh.
