This Bollywood Actor Vanished After Making An Acclaimed Debut

The mid and early 2010s marked a phase in which new talent started to emerge into Bollywood. In this year young actors like Ranveer Singh, Ayushmann Khurrana, Parineeti Chopra, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, Sidharth Malhotra came in the industry. The vast majority of them were able to make very good careers. But not all them became star of the future.

One of them did not make another film after the first works and took a step back from the industryto become a head of a company. Girish Kumar started his acting career in movie industry through Prabhu Deva’s romantic drama named Ramaiya Vastavaiya in 2013. The film is actually the remake of the director’s Telugu flick titled Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana and the leading lady of the film was Shruti Haasan. The film’s music became popular though the movie only grossed average at the ticket stand.

 However, positive response did come Girish’s way and he was nominated in the Best Debut or Newcomer Male category at three events. After this, Girish acted only in one movie – the romantic comedy Loveshhuda of 2016 with the heroine Navneet Kaur Dhillon. After the failure of this much hyped film both critically and commercially, Girish decided to bid goodbye to acting.

However, he was always close to films as he stemmed from a film family. The talented actor Girish Karthikey is the son of Kuamr S Taurani, film producer, and the nephew of Ramesh S Taurani. The Taurani brothers, due to the ownership of the Tips Industries are today among the most powerful personalities in entertainment industry in India.

Girish bid acting farewell after which, he joined the family business by helping his father and uncle in the management of Tips. He is now the Chief Operating Officer (COO) in Tips Industries and is involved in the operations of one of the biggest entertainment companies in India. By December 2024, the business has a market capitalization of ₹10,517 million.

He is married to his childhood sweetheart Krsna. They have one child. The family lives in Mumbai.
