Iconic Superhero Is Set To Make A Thrilling Comeback
While today’s young Indians connect with superhero Launch, Spidey, and Bat, there was only one superhero that ruled the hearts -- Shaktimaan. That distinguished hero is gearing up to roar back to the big screen again.
On Sunday Actors and Indian television fans were left reminiscing of the old days after Mukesh Khanna, who portrayed Shaktimaan, hinted on his return. Mukesh, on Saturday shared a picture and a video clip. The text that accompanied the video clip was: “As Darkness & Evil Prevails Over Children of Today, Bheeshm International To Bring India’s First Super Teacher Super Hero.”
The clip goes on to show Mukesh as Shaktimaan. He lands in a school premises, where he starts singing, “Aazadi ke deewanon ne jung ladhi phir jaanein di, ang ang kat gaye magar anch watan par na ane di...”
Sharing the picture on Instagram, Mukesh wrote, "It’s Time For HIM to RETURN. Our First Indian SUPER TEACHER- SUPER HERO. YES ! As Darkness And Evil prevails over Children of Today… Its time for him to return. He returns with a Message. He returns with a Teaching. For today’s generation. Welcome Him. With both hands”.
With the recent statement by the production house of Shaktimaan, fans exhibited joy in various social media platforms, with many of them expressing their feelings towards the old show.
"I have missed school many times to see this,” one wrote, with another sharing, “Mere shaktiman”. One comment read, “You're my childhood hero”, with one exclaiming, “Very much excited sir, and lots of good wishes”. “So excited to watch sir,” shared one user, with another writing, “Watching your serials a lot in my childhood made my childhood very memorable”. “Waitinggg sir.. Most powerful 1st superhero,” one comment read. “Welcome back sir, big fan of your , very much exited, best of luck sir,” one user shared. One social media user wrote, “Wow the most awaited”.
Shaktimaan was first a television series which started in 1997 on DD National. It is Mukesh Khanna’s production who also did the lead role. The show also casted names like Kitu Gidwani, Vaishnavi, Surendra Pal and Tom Alter. It was very popular and reached 450 episodes before the show was concluded after almost eight years on the air. Shaktimaan is superhuman character which has mythological and magical abilities elected by mystical group of monks to fight against the evil in the world.
