'The Chemistry Was Working', Say Kriti Sanon On Casting Shaheer Sheikh

At the trailer launch of Do Patti, Writer Kanika Dhillon revealed that Bollywood actor Kriti Sonan, who also produced the film, was involved in the casting of Shaheer Sheikh. According to her, Kriti personally auditioned the final ten candidates for the character of Dhruv.

While conducting a meet and greet with the audience after the trailer launch of Do Patti, Kanika shared a tale from the set, “Just an example of how hands-on Kriti was. Kriti’s like, ‘Last ten rounds, I’ll audition with ten people’. And those last ten people left, Kriti herself went, and auditioned with each of those ten candidates, did that scene over and over. Adhe toh ghabra gaye ke Kriti audition karne ayi hai!”

Kriti responded by saying, “To be honest, I think it was so important to find the current Dhruv. You know, because again, the character has so many layers. And the chemistry has to work in a certain way. So, I was glad that we did the audition. I think while I was doing the audition only with him, I felt in my head when we were seeing that the chemistry was working, also the shades of group that he has. I think he was pulling it off so well.”

Kriti found Shaheer's portrayal of Dhruv and his complexities strong, and their on-screen chemistry perfect for the film and the character. Do Patti is a murder mystery, filled with suspense, thrill, and drama. Kajol plays a no-nonsense cop who has been assigned to solve a murder mystery, while Kriti plays a grey character in the film. Do Patti is set to stream on Netflix from 25 October.
