Tabu joins the cast of Hollywood Series ‘Dune: Prophecy’: Read More

Tabu has been casted as Sister Francesca in the prequel series to Dune, titled, ‘Dune: Prophecy’, that will be streamed on Max. This series has been in works since 2019, even before the pandemic under the title ‘Dune: The Sisterhood’. The release date of the series is yet to be announced.

Tabu will play the recurring role of Sister Francesca who is described as “Strong, intelligent, and alluring, (she) leaves a lasting impression in her wake. Once a great love of the Emperor, her return to the palace strains the balance of power in the capital.”

Dune is a popular film series starring Zendaya, Timothee Chalamet, Oscar Issac and Jason Momoa. The second Dune was one of the most successful films of 2023. This sci-fi film is based on novel by the same name, and takes place in a dystopian world.

The new series, ‘Dune: Prophecy’, also draws inspiration from the from the novel, ‘Sisterhood of Dune’, that takes place almost 10,000 years prior to the film series. Tabu will be starring in the series alongside Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Jodhi May and others on the show.

Tabu is one of the most versatile actresses in India, with doing roles in critically acclaimed films like Andhadhun, Drishyam and Khufiya. She was last seen in the film ‘Crew’ which was a massive box office hit.
